Volunteers/Trainees
We are looking for help with our pack of around 40 huskies all year round. We train you how to work with dogs and everything that comes with it. In winter there is the possibility to train the right helpers how to drive the sledge and becoming a guide/musher.
Main tasks in summer/fall:
- Feeding the dogs
- Cleaning the kennels
- Maintenance of kennels and property
- Socialize and play with the dogs
- Help with autumn training
- Regular household chores
Main tasks in winter:
- Feeding the dogs
- Cleaning the kennels
- Snow shoveling
- Help with preparing the tours (harnessing etc.)
- Help with hosting the guests (accommodation, cook meals, bookings, transfers etc.)
- Regular household chores
You are:
- Passionate about dogs
- Able to work independent
- Enthusiastic and positive
- Not afraid of long and irregular working hours
- Physically fit
- Outdoor-lover
- Having a driving license
What we offer:
- Food and lodging
- Possibility to go dog sledding (considered as free time)
- Learn everything about handling the dogs and the life up North
Experienced guides/dog handlers
In winter we are also offering paid positions for experienced guides.
What else:
We expect a minimum stay of 3 months. During high season there are also possibilities for shorter stays if you prefer to help with guests rather than dogs.
